Gary Elliott and Shona Virden raise funds for 2023 BCO Cycle Challenge
08.06.2023
Elliott Wood chief executive, Gary Elliott, and engineer Shona Virden recently embarked on the 2023 BCO Cycle Challenge.
The event, which took place from 4 June to 7 June, not only pushed their limits, but also helped raise over £22,000 for the charity Samaritans.
Covering a total distance of 280-miles, the ride began in County Kerry, Ireland, before heading through rolling hills and the beautiful Wild Atlantic Way, finishing in Dublin three days later.
The BCO Cycle Challenge wasn’t just about the physical challenge and breathtaking scenery, it was also an opportunity to give back. By raising funds for Samaritans, the cyclists were supporting the essential work of the charity. Every 10 seconds, Samaritans responds to a call for help, ensuring that someone is always available to provide the support needed, day or night, every day of the year.
Arriving at the finish line in Dublin, Gary and Shona were greeted by Directors George Georgiou and Andy Downey for the BCO Annual Conference. The conference provided a great platform for exchanging knowledge, hearing about the latest developments in the office sector, and reconnecting with industry friends and colleagues.
Thank you to all the participants, supporters, and sponsors who contributed to the success of this event! We are proud to make a positive impact not only in the built environment but to the communities we live in.
